SUBJECT: Presentation of the December 2021 Haweo Award to Hawaii Fire Department
Awardee on the December 7, 2021 —Parks and Recreation & Public Safety
Committee
We are requesting approximately 10 minutes for presentation of the December 2021 Haweo
Award to Hawaii Fire Department recipient, Tyler Fardig - Fire Fighter,
The Haweo Award Program recognizes employees of our Fire and Police `ohana that perform
their duties "above and beyond the call". "Haweo" means to glow or to be radiant, and it is right
and just to recognize department employees who serve as shining examples of Hawaii County's
finest public servants.
We request that this presentation take place on the Parks and Recreation and Public Safety
Committee on December 7, 2021, and that this committee be scheduled at 9:00 a.m. to better
accommodate the department's schedule.
