Aloha Council Chair David and Council Members:
In accordance with the County Charter Section 13-4, I submit Gabriella Cabanas for re-
appointment to the Merit Appeals Board. The Council originally confirmed Ms. Cabanas in
February of 2021 and she is now eligible for a full five-year term.
As noted previously, Ms. Cabanas, a lifelong resident of Hawaii,retired from the County of
Hawaii, Department of Human Resources, after over 37 years of incredible service, managing
many complex issues and overseeing the administration of the Recruitment and Examination
Division.
Gabriella is an active member of the Zonta Club of Hilo and the Hawaii Island Portuguese
Chamber of Commerce. If confirmed, she will serve a term ending December 31, 2026.
