The Council originally confirmed Mr. Hanato in July of <br /> 2017 and he is eligible to succeed himself for an additional five-year term. <br /> As noted previously, Mr. Hanato, a lifelong resident of Hawaii, served in the US Marine Corp <br /> from 1963-1969. He is a Vietnam Veteran and member of the Disabled Veterans Kona Chapter <br /> #7. <br /> Mr. Hanato retired as a businessman and was a proprietor of Hanato Tofu Factory for many <br /> years. He also worked as a farmer, welder, and bartender. Mr. Hanato is an active member in <br /> our community, volunteering countless hours to various veterans organizations. If confirmed, he <br /> will serve a second term ending December 31, 2026. <br /> Your favorable confirmation is requested.
