Aloha Council Chair David and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Michael Hughes of Council District 7 to the Liquor Control
Adjudication Board.
Mr, Hughes is a successful business owner including Hawaiian Tropics Direct LLC, Tradewind
Connection LLC and Smart Direct Ltd. Originally from Michigan, Mr. Hughes has lived in
Hawaii for nearly a decade and is interested in contributing further to our island community.
Mr. Hughes holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Agriculture from Ferris State
University in Michigan, He has previously served on the Liquor Commission and the Property
Tax Board of Review. If confirmed, he will serve a term to end December 31, 2026.
