RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ISLAND OF
HAWAII YMCA FOR ITS FAMILY VISITATION CENTER.
WHEREAS, the Island of Hawaii YMCA (YMCA), a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization,
is guided by the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility and is dedicated to
giving people of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life the opportunity to reach their full
potential with dignity; and
WHEREAS, the YMCA's Family Visitation Center maintains a safe venue for parents
and children who have been victims of domestic violence by scheduling, coordinating, and
supervising visitations as well as providing security services that help to prevent inappropriate
behaviors from occurring in front of children while they visit with their non-custodial parent; and
WHEREAS,the YMCA is requesting funds for security staffing to provide supervision
for children and families at its Family Visitation Center; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports domestic violence
prevention and intervention initiatives to improve the quality of life for Hawaii Island residents;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to the Island of Hawaii YMCA for its Family Visitation
Center.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
