STATE F FIA AFI <br /> •t•At of;^F�. <br /> �rE oF•µ,� <br /> RESOLUTION NST . <br /> { <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO VIBRANT HAWAFI <br /> TO SUPPORT HA`AHEO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PARENT TEACHER <br /> ORGANIZATION'S TENT PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawaii is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization whose kuleana, <br /> mission, and approach to systems transformation is to convene conversations so that all wa`a <br /> travel toward a common goal; build community awareness, will, and action from the foundation <br /> of our shared values; shift deficit narratives, systems, and policies that perpetuate poverty and <br /> inequity; and implement strategies that are developed and resourced by the community and <br /> reflect native intelligence; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the main areas of focus for Vibrant Hawaii is educational initiatives <br /> that create learning pathways and connections to `dina, `ohana, and communities; and <br /> WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawaii is working in partnership with the Parent Teacher <br /> Organization (PTO) for Ha`aheo Elementary School to support its tent program, which will allow <br /> teachers to conduct outdoor classes in a shaded environment to enhance student learning; and <br /> WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawaii is requesting fiends to purchase an inclement-weather tent <br /> and to pay for associated setup fees; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports youth programs that promote <br /> educational activities in a drug-free and alcohol-free environment; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Vibrant Hawaii to support Ha`aheo Elementary School <br /> Parent Teacher Organization's tent program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
