��v of a"'c• 0;4* RESOLUTION NO. 270 21 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO EAST HAWAFI CULTURAL CENTER TO SUPPORT ITS OUT-OF-DOORS PROGRAM. WHEREAS, East Hawaii Cultural Center(EHCC) is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization whose mission is to act as an inclusive platform for the expression of the rich and complex cultural diversity that defines our communities through exhibitions,performances, education, and creative inquiry; and WHEREAS, EHCC has a new mobile,modular"AARP Livable Communities Stage" that can be brought to schools,parks and retirement facilities for onsite learning and enjoyment by students, residents, and visitors, even if they can not travel to EHCC; and WHEREAS, EHCC is producing its "EHCC Out-of-Doors"program that will utilize the new mobile stage and bring free theatre, dance, music, science,hula,poetry, spoken-word, readers-theatre and other exciting performances to communities regardless of their disability, economic or other constraints; and WHEREAS, EHCC is requesting funds for expenses associated with its Out-of-Doors Program, including technical assistance services, supplies, equipment, and materials; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports this project, because it is compatible with its mission to provide diversified recreation programs that address the needs and interests of the respective communities in a safe environment with zero tolerance for illegal drugs and violence for residents in Hawaii County; and enhance the standard of living for residents in Hawaii County; and WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to East Hawaii Cultural Center to support its Out-of- Doors Program.
