1 <br /> I <br /> JN4Y OF kyr - <br /> G�°w <br /> COUNTY OF <br /> A I *° _* STATE OF HAWAFI <br /> �AF•OF•NF'� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 27 2 21 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAIIAN <br /> PARADISE PARK NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH FOR ITS MONTHLY COMMUNITY <br /> ENGAGEMENT EVENTS. <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaiian Paradise Park Neighborhood Watch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> entity that promotes community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie with the goal of <br /> creating safer and more resilient neighborhoods; and <br /> WHEREAS, each year, Hawaiian Paradise Park Neighborhood Watch hosts holiday <br /> events such as the Halloween in.Paradise Drive-Thru and Mele Kalikimaka Drive-Thru for <br /> neighbors and residents to come together safely and celebrate their sense of place; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaiian Paradise Park Neighborhood Watch also hosts monthly food <br /> pantries and distribution of bagged groceries to nearly 500 residents; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaiian Paradise Park Neighborhood Watch is requesting funds to <br /> purchase and distribute food, information, decorations,personal protective equipment, and <br /> supplies for its monthly community engagement events; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support alcohol- <br /> free and drug-free community events; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hawaiian Paradise Park Neighborhood Watch to assist with <br /> its monthly community engagement events. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
