A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF ONE SAND FILTER TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAIʻI DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT.
WHEREAS, Hawai‘i Water Service is donating one sand filter to the County of Hawai‘i Department of Environmental Management; and
WHEREAS, the sand filter, valued at approximately $200,000, will be installed at the Kealakehe Wastewater Treatment Plant; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaiʻi County Charter, provides that the council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other personal
property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Environmental Management recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I, , in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaiʻi County Charter, the County of Hawaiʻi, accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to Hawai‘i Water Service, 68-1845 Waikoloa Road, Unit 216, Waikoloa, HI 96738.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Department of Environmental Management, the Department of Finance, and the Office of the
Mayor.
