A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
ONATION OF ONE SAND FILTER TO THE COUNTY OF A A `
DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT. j

WHEREAS, Hawaii Water Service is donating one sand filter to the County of
Hawaii Department of Environmental Management; and
WHEREAS, the sand filter, valued at approximately $200,000, will be installed at the
Kcalakehe Wastewater Treatment Plant; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the
council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Environmental Management recommends the acceptance
of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, , in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of
Hawaii, accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Hawaii Water Service, 68-1845 Waikoloa Road, Unit 216, Waikoloa, HI
96738.

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Department of Environmental Management, the Department of Finance, and
the Office of the Mayor.
