®ear Councilmembers:
I am very grateful to the Council once again tackling this ongoing concern. Since
the first time that the Council looked at the health concerns surrounding Glyphosate
use as well as certain other herbicides, the data has continued to accumulate on
their negative health impacts. Legal decisions have also, weighing the preponderance
of evidence, come down in favor of those whose lives have been devastated by chronic
exposure to glyphosate based herbicides, this in spite of opposition by an army of
well paid corporate legal teams. I will not bore you by droning on about these
health impacts as I have done in the past, but would be happy to share any of that
information with you if you contact me.
I hope that the council will look favorably on this bill which clearly has been
written in the spirit of compromise. I am also hopeful that you will pass Bill 91
and that the Mayor will sign it into law. My thanks to all of you for your public
service.
Sincerely and with Aloha,
Lew Whitney
