ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Holeka Goro Inaba, Chair Mr. Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder, Vice Chair Mr. Aaron S. Y. Chung. Member Ms. Maile Medeiros David, Member Ms. Ashley L. Kierkiewicz, Member Ms. Heather L. Kimball, Member Ms. Susan L. K. Lee Loy, Member Mr. Herbert M. "Tim" Richards, III, Member (via videoconference from Waimea) Ms. Rebecca Villegas, Member (came in later) STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS: COMMUNI- r A TTnNc The Chair directed the Committee to proceed to the next order of business, Statements from the Public on Agenda Items. (There were none.) CHR. INABA: We'll then move on to Communication 176.7. The Chair directed the Committee to proceed to the next order of business, Communications. Comm. 176.7: REQUESTS A PRESENTATION OF THE NOVEMBER 2021 HAWEO AWARD TO TYLER JELSMA, POLICE OFFICER — HAWAI`I POLICE DEPARTMENT From Council Member Holeka Goro Inaba, dated October 4, 2021. Motion to Close File: Ms. Lee Loy moved to close file on Comm. 176.7. Seconded by Mr. Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder. PRPSC-18 November 2, 2021 CHR. INABA: We have here today Mr. Tyler Jelsma, and friends and ohana from the Police Department. And at this time I ask Officer Jelsma, and Lieutenant Derr, if you would please come up to the front table. You can take a seat. And please introduce—Lieutenant maybe if you could start us off by introducing yourself for the record and then please share why we're here today and why Officer Jelsma is being recognized. CERTIFICATE OF (Note: At this time, the November 2021 HAWEO Award was presented APPRECIATION: to Tyler Jelsma Police Officer from the Hawaii Police Department in recognition of going above and beyond the call of duty in service to the community. Police Lieutenant Derr came forward and provided statements regarding his exceptional activities in service to the community. Chair Inaba provided a celebratory Hawaiian Chant.) CHR. INABA: So with that, let's close this meeting up. There's a motion on the floor right now, all those in favor please say "aye." Vote on Comm. 176.7: The motion to close file on Comm. 176.7 was carried Filed by the following voice vote: Ayes: Committee Members Chung, David, Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder, Kierkiewicz, Kimball, Lee Loy, Richards, Villegas, and Chair Inaba – 9.
