t <br /> t <br /> (k <br /> I <br /> JNtV".®i M�1y <br /> tQ'•L :ys <br /> ` <br /> •tAn'e�akw:��� <br /> '®rF•Oi•NptO <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRINGIAPPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAII ISLAND <br /> UNITED WAY FOR THE PURCHASE OF MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES FOR ITS <br /> COMMUNITY OUTREACH INITIATIVE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Island United Way ("HIUW") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization whose mission is to unite people, organizations, and resources to build a healthier <br /> community; and <br /> WHEREAS, HIUW currently partners with 38 agencies and 48 community programs, <br /> and supports local community organizations with an interest in health and wellness; and <br /> WHEREAS, HIUW and partners reached over 75% of Hawaii Island as a result of its <br /> community outreach initiative; and <br /> WHEREAS, HIUW is requesting funds to assist with the purchase of materials and <br /> supplies for its community outreach initiative; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support organizations <br /> and programs that promote the health, safety, and welfare of the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hawaii Island United Way to assist with expenses for its <br /> community outreach initiative. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
