I <br /> I <br /> °i.%,y <br /> COUNTY OF C tem �� STATE OF 6 <br /> �AE'OFtit� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 284 21 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO LA`I`OPUA 2020 FOR <br /> EXPENSES RELATING TO ITS COMMUNITY OUTREACH EFFORTS. <br /> WHEREAS, La`i`opua 2020 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to <br /> provide social, recreational, vocational, educational, and cultural opportunities to the <br /> communities in Kona; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of La`i`opua 2020's community outreach efforts is its cardboard <br /> shredding program, which diverts cardboard from landfills to create garden mulch, high-grade <br /> soil, and packaging material; and <br /> WHEREAS, La`i`opua 2020 is requesting funds for supplies and equipment associated <br /> with the cardboard shredding events; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support public <br /> and youth programs that promote educational activities in a drug- and alcohol-free environment; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to La`i`opua 2020 for expenses relating to its community <br /> outreach efforts in the Kona Community. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
