Your Committee on Parks and Recreation and Public Safety, to which was referred
Communication No. 511, reports as follows:
Communication No. 511,transmitted by Mayor Mitchell D. Roth, dated November 10, 2021,
submitting for the Council's review and confirmation the re-appointment of Isaac Nahakd'elua to
the Veterans Advisory Committee.
Executive Assistant Pomaika`i Bartolome was present at Council Chambers in Hilo and
introduced the nominee who appeared in person.
Several Council Members spoke in favor of Mr. Nahaku`elua's re-appointment. Chair Inaba
informed Mr. Nahak-Cl`elua that final confirmation at full Council will be on December 22, 2021,
in Kona.
Pursuant to Chapter 15, Article 7, Section 15-62 of the Hawaii County Code, members of the
Veterans Advisory Committee shall be eligible to succeed themselves for an additional term,
provided that no member shall serve on the committee for more than two consecutive terms.
Your Committee on Parks and Recreation and Public Safety is in accord with the purpose and
intent of Communication No. 511, and recommends confirmation of the re-appointment of
Isaac Nahaku`elua to the Veterans Advisory Committee.
