RF-SOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF
USED EQUIPMENT FOR USE BY THE HAWAVI FIRE
WHEREAS, the Honolulu Fire Department is donating used equipment to the
Hawaii Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, this equipment consists of the following:

1 Amkus Power Unit 5.5 HP OHV Roll Cage (for parts) 100.00

4 Rescue Power Tool Amkus Hand Pump 800.00
4 Rescue Power Tool Amkus Ram 2,000.00
1 Hydraulic Rescue Cutter 600.00
4 Rescue Power Tool Amkus Spreader 3,200.00
TOTAL: $ 9,285.00
and
WHEREAS, Article X111, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts
or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution
approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this
donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter
2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of
Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Lionel Camara, Jr:, Acting Fire Chief, Honolulu Fire Department,
636 South Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813, acknowledging this generous donation.
