Ms. Cruz, a lifelong resident of Hawaii, is a self-employed talent agent, a jazz vocalist, with a broad interest in Hawaiian culture, a deep love for the community, a passion for equity, and motivated to work for the greater good of the community. Ms. Cruz assists in the State of Hawaii 1 East Hawaii office of the Department of Hawaiian Homelands on the Kanaiolowalu Native Hawaiian Roll Commission Initiative and is a member of the King Kamehameha Celebration Commission,term ending 2026. As a proactive member of our island community, Desirees serves as board member of the Volcano Art Center, Hilo Community Players, Pauka`a Community Association and Kamehameha School PTA.
