Aloha Council Chair David and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Doug Gora of District 2 to the Veterans Advisory Committee.
Mr. Gora has been a Hawaii resident for fifteen years. He earned his Bachelor of Science
Degree in Biology and completed a two-year Master of Biotechnology Program. He is currently
employed with the USDA as a Consumer Safety Inspector.
Mr. Gora served in the United States Army from 1988 to 2004 and is currently a member of
VFW Post 3875 and an active member of the Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) Hilo. Mr.
Gora has first-hand knowledge of issues concerning veterans and feels a deep sense of duty to
advocate for veterans in our community. If confirmed, Mr. Gora will represent as an at-large
member with a term to end December 31, 2026.
