SM��f®S Nay COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 293 22 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TOPROVIDE A GRANT TA AFI ISLAM UNITED WAY FOR THE PURCHASE OF MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES FOR ITS COMMUNITY OUTREACH INITIATIVES° WHEREAS, the Hawaii Island United Way ("HIUW") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to unite people, organizations, and resources to build a healthier community; and WHEREAS, H1UW currently partners with 33 agencies and 42 community programs, and supports local community organizations with an interest in health and wellness; and WHEREAS, HIUW and its partners have reached over 75% of Hawaii Island families and individuals as a result of its community outreach initiatives; and WHEREAS, HIUW is requesting funds to assist with the purchase of materials and supplies for its community outreach initiatives; and WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support organizations and programs that promote the health, safety, and welfare of the community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, E IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hawaii Island United Way to assist with expenses for its community outreach initiatives. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
