Aloha Council Chair David and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate David A. Wiseman of District 7 to the Board of Appeals.
The Honorable Judge Wiseman retired in 2016 from a distinguished fifteen-year career of
service as a Superior Court Judge for the United States Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana
Islands (CNMI). Prior to ascending to the bench in 2001, Judge Wiseman spent nearly four
decades working in the CNMI in various capacities as an attorney. He has a passion for
government service and looks forward to bringing his judicial experience to the Board of
Appeals.
Judge Wiseman obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Suffolk
University and Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School in Boston. Since his
retirement to Hawaii Island in 2016, Judge Wiseman has been active in the community. He
served as Chairman of the Hawaii County Board of Ethics from 2018 to 2021 and is on the
Kona Community Hospital Ethics Commission. If confirmed, he will serve a term to end
December 31, 2026.
