SOLUTION NO. 299 22
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
DONATION OF THREE (3) LUCAS COMPRESSION SYSTEM
DEVICES WITH ACCESSORIES TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAIJFIRE
DEPARTMENT,
WHEREAS, the Hilo Medical Center Foundation is donating three (3) LUCAS
compression system devices with accessories to the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the LUCAS compression system devices, valued at approximately
$52,000, will be utilized by the County of Hawaii Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the
council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, , in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of
Hawaii, accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Hilo Medical Center Foundation, c/o Lisa Rantz, 1190 Waianuenue
Avenue, Hilo, HI 96720.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Fire Department,the Department of Finance, and the Office of the Mayor.
