RESOLUTION NO. 300 22
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
DONATION OF A PEACE POLE TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAVI
DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION.
WHEREAS,the East Hawaii Rotary Club's Peace Committee is donating a granite
peace pole to the County of Hawaii Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, this peace pole,valued at approximately $10,000, will be placed at
Mo`oheau Park in Hilo; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the
council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this
donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of
Hawaii, accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Department of Parks and Recreation,the Department of Finance, and the
Office of the Mayor.
