�wew•'p?� <br /> ,rFOF X11 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 303 22 <br /> A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH COUNTY OF HAWAII FEDERAL <br /> LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES TO INFORM MEETINGS BETWEEN THE AWAI`I <br /> STATE ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE AND FEDERAL <br /> OFFICIALS IN WASHINGTON,D.C. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii State Association of Counties (HSAC) Executive Committee <br /> plans to meet with the Hawaii Congressional delegation and other federal officials while in <br /> Washington, D.C. for the National Association of Counties Legislative Conference in February, <br /> 2022; and <br /> WHEREAS, HSAC strives to be comprehensively representative of its membership by <br /> requesting a list of federal legislative priorities from each County Council to inform their <br /> meetings in Washington, D.C.; and <br /> WHEREAS,the County of Hawaii Council Committee on Governmental Operations, <br /> Relations, and Economic Development discussed federal legislative priorities on January 5, <br /> 2022; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it <br /> sets forth the following federal legislative priorities to inform meetings between the Hawaii <br /> State Association of Counties Executive Committee and the Hawaii Congressional delegation: <br /> I. Infrastructure funding through the American Rescue Plan Act and the Infrastructure <br /> Investment and Jobs Act for county roads, bridges, highways, wastewater systems, <br /> broadband connectivity, food production, and agricultural infrastructure. <br /> 2. Position and prepare the Counties to access funding from the American Rescue Plan <br /> Act, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, the pending Build Back Better Act, <br /> and any other federal sources, particularly through direct funding to the County, <br /> including any tools or support for tracking and monitoring funding opportunities. <br /> 3. Infrastructure and service funding opportunities dedicated to tribal nations that may <br /> also be accessible to the Native Hawaiian community. <br />
