STATE OF HAWAI‘I
RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION CREATING TWO (2) NEW TEMPORARY POSITIONS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaiʻi was awarded federal funding from the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA); and
WHEREAS, the creation of two (2) new, temporary positions are needed to support these programs; and
WHEREAS, the positions indicated above are an Economic Development Specialist II (Temp), SR-22, and an Economic Development Specialist III (Temp), SR-24, that will be funded through
the WIOA grant; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawai‘i County Charter states that the Mayor has the power to “Create positions...for which appropriations have been made by the council...”;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that one (1) Economic Development Specialist II (Temp) and one (1) Economic Development Specialist III (Temp) position be created
in the Department of Research and Development.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Office of the Mayor and the Departments of Finance, Research and Development and Human Resources.
