1 Oppose Bill 91 Banning the use of herbicides aka glyphosate. I
i
Why? Because this bill, like the many others before it, have been promoted and even written by
national anti-pesticide/agriculture organizations like Center for Food Safety, and Beyond
Pesticides.
We all want to keep our keiki safe, don't we? This is why the County took steps more than 2
years ago to curb herbicide use.
The unintended consequences of passing this superficial bill is harming Hawaii's farmers and
ranchers who are being squeezed of their hope and their right to farm and feed Hawaii. This Bill
does nothing to protect public safety. It provides fodder for activists to come after my
farm/ranch.
What does this bill do? And Why it should not Pass.
• Not a dang thing! It's built on a false pretense that it's needed. The bill ONLY puts what
the County is already doing into the ordinance, such as reducing pesticide use and
recordkeeping.
• It does nothing but give the activists leverage to come after ranchers and farmers, and
they will; it's not "if' it's when).
• Gives the public a false sense of fear and security instead of leading with science and
data.
