SUBJECT: Requests discussion with Mayor Mitchell D. Roth and Civil Defense
Administrator Talmadge Magno regarding their response to the volcanic
eruption in Tonga and its effects as it relates to Hawai`i Island
We respectfully request 30 minutes for a discussion with Mayor Mitchell D. Roth and Civil
Defense Administrator Talmadge Magno regarding their response to the volcanic eruption that
occurred in Tonga on January 15, 2022, and its effects as it relates to Hawai`i Island.
We request that this discussion take place during committees on February 8, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. to
accommodate schedules for Mayor Roth and Civil Defense Administrator Magno.
