SUBJECT: Presentation of the February 2022 Hdweo Award to an HFD Recipient
on February 22, 2022—Parks and Recreation& Public Safety Committee
We are requesting approximately 10 minutes for presentation of the February 2022 Hdweo
Award to Hawaii Fire Department recipient, Kyle Ching - Water Safety Officer II.
We request that this presentation take place on the Parks and Recreation and Public Safety
Committee on February 22, 2022, and that this committee be scheduled at 9:00 a.m. to better
accommodate the department's schedule.
The Hdweo Award Program recognizes employees of our Fire and Police `ohana that perform
their duties "above and beyond the call". "Hdweo" means to glow or to be radiant, and it is right
and just to recognize department employees who serve as shining examples of Hawaii County's
finest public servants.
