STATE OF HAWAFI <br /> 3 <br /> 14TE OP°N''� j <br /> 3 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 311- 22 <br /> 3i <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO VIBRANT HAWAII <br /> TO PURCHASE REUSABLE WATER BOTTLES FOR PUBLIC ELEMENTARY <br /> SCHOOLS IN THE HILO-WAIAKEA COMPLEX AREA. <br /> WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that brings <br /> community-based organizations, government, foundations, and businesses together to build <br /> awareness and implement strategies that are developed and resourced by the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, according to an August 2021 student needs assessment survey of the 12 <br /> public elementary schools in the Hilo-Waiakea Complex Area, reusable water bottles were <br /> identified as one of the top needs for students, attached hereto as Exhibit A; and <br /> s <br /> WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawaii is requesting funds to purchase reusable water bottles and <br /> will partner with the Department of Water Supply to distribute the bottles to all public <br /> elementary schools in the Hilo-Waiakea Complex Area; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations that bring <br /> awareness and education to our youth and community to live a healthy, alcohol-free, and drug- <br /> free lifestyle; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> a <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Vibrant Hawaii to purchase reusable water bottles for <br /> public elementary schools in the Hilo-Waiakea Complex Area. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
