i COUNTY F HAWAIII STATEG ,rg•oF•NP� RESOLUTION NO. 313 22 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO LA`I`OPUA 2020 FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES RELATED TO ITS KONA MELS PROJECT. WHEREAS, La`i`opua 2020 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide social, recreational, vocational, educational, and cultural opportunities to the communities in Kona; and WHEREAS, La`i`opua 2020's Kona Mele Project is a video production that took place in February 2022 at historical landmark locations in Kona that featured Kona musicians, hula practitioners, and students from Ke Kula `O `Ehunuikaimalino and Kealakehe Intermediate and High Schools; and WHEREAS, La`i`opua 2020 is requesting funds for reimbursement of expenses for COVID tests and supplies as well as lei and floral supplies related to its Kona Mele Project; and WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support organizations and programs that promote educational activities in a drug- and alcohol-free environment; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to La`i`opua 2020 to reimburse expenses related to its Kona Mete Project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
