Aloha County Council, Mayor Roth and Administration ,
My name is Kalani Lyman. I am sending this testimony to share my mana'o on a situation that has not been settled for
over 12 years. We've been going through this eminent domain process for Public Access to Papaikou Mill Beach
since Mayor Kenoi, Mayor Kim and now Mayor Roth and council members Mr Yagong, Mrs Poindexter and Ms.
Kimball.
In November 2020, the county council passed the resolution for eminent domain for the second time in 12 years. Now
over a year has gone by and Mayor Roth puts it on the side. I've called Corporation Counsel and was informed that
Mayor Roth said to put it on the side.
I've talked to the Mayor Roth and told him I know you are personal friends with the landowners and you represent
the whole county not only certain people in our community.
Today 2022 the land is for sale and the new landowners may become more of problem as we continue to push for
public access to this beautiful place. Our fight is to keep this beautiful beach access for all generations.
Please let's get the ball rolling on this this issue for public access to Papaikou Mill Beach. I will be glad to help.
