Re: Resolution Accepting Donation
I
Enclosed is a resolution accepting a donation of a forfeited 2006 Toyota Tacoma 4x4
double cab pickup truck from the State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General.
This truck, valued at approximately $10,500, will be utilized by the Hawaii County
Police Department in their daily operations.
The Police Department requests that this resolution be waived from the Finance
Committee and be placed on the February 23, 2022 Council agenda in order to expedite
receipt of this donation. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Hauoli
Aiona, of the Police Department at 961-2273.

(1) 2006 Toyota Tacoma 44 Double Cab Pickup Truck.

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Hawaii Police Department would like to accept the donation of a 2006 Toyota Tacoma from the
Department of the Attorney General's Office to be used in daily operations. The value of the vehicle is
estimated at$10,500.

RE: RESOLUTION NO. 317-22 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
ACCEPTANCE OF THE DONATION OF A 2006 TOYOTA TACOMA FROM
THE STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL
TO THE HAWAII COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
