SUBJECT: A Bill for an Ordinance Amending Chapter 4 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983
(2016 Edition, As Amended), Relating to Animals.
Attached is a bill for an Ordinance Amending Chapter 4 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2016
Edition, As Amended) Relating to Animals. This bill includes provisions to regulate persons
whose dogs bite, injure, or maim persons or animals belonging to other persons. In addition, this
bill reorganizes the chapter to allow placement of sections relating to dangerous dogs into one
division and further amends the chapter for clarity and efficacy.
