(--- • 11 os\,'• COUNTY OF HAWAII - +',��." /i• STATE OF HAWAII : —0-%.a.=+;. : RESOLUTION NO. 329 22 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO WE ARE OCEANIA FOR ITS KEIKI CARE PACKS PROJECT. WHEREAS, We Are Oceania is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower the Micronesian community to navigate success while honoring the integrity of their diverse heritage; and WHEREAS, We Are Oceania is working with community members to coordinate a Keiki Care Packs project in Ocean View to provide essential school supplies and miscellaneous items for 500 public school students in kindergarten through eighth grade; and WHEREAS, We Are Oceania is requesting funds to purchase snacks, school supplies, arts and crafts supplies, and miscellaneous items for its Keiki Care Packs project; and WHEREAS, one of the goals for the Department of Liquor Control is to support community events that provide a safe, alcohol-free and drug-free environment for students; and WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to We Are Oceania for its Keiki Care Packs project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
