RESOLUTION NO. 329 22
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO WE ARE OCEANIA
FOR ITS KEIKI CARE PACKS PROJECT.
WHEREAS, We Are Oceania is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to
empower the Micronesian community to navigate success while honoring the integrity of their
diverse heritage; and
WHEREAS, We Are Oceania is working with community members to coordinate a
Keiki Care Packs project in Ocean View to provide essential school supplies and miscellaneous
items for 500 public school students in kindergarten through eighth grade; and
WHEREAS, We Are Oceania is requesting funds to purchase snacks, school supplies,
arts and crafts supplies, and miscellaneous items for its Keiki Care Packs project; and
WHEREAS, one of the goals for the Department of Liquor Control is to support
community events that provide a safe, alcohol-free and drug-free environment for students; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of
Liquor Control to provide a grant to We Are Oceania for its Keiki Care Packs project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
