HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 333 Draft 01 2020-2022 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH MARSHALL AND SWIFT FOR APPRAISAL SOFTWARE AND DATA WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and WHEREAS, the County of Hawai‘i wishes to enter into a multi-year agreement for five (5) years, for software license renewals and the use of Marshall and Swift data; and WHEREAS, the Department of Finance, Real Property Tax Division relies on this data for the purpose of valuing real property in Hawai‘i County for ad valorem taxation purposes; and WHEREAS, this specialized service is essential to the work performed by the Real Property Tax Division; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I: That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year agreement for the services as indicated above, for the Department of Finance. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai‘i shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor and the Department of Finance.
