Aloha Council Chair David and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Zaheva Knowles to the Leeward Planning Commission.
Ms. Knowles has been a resident of Hawai'i for twenty-two years. She is interested in serving on
the Commission because she believes that thoughtful land use planning can help improve the
quaity of life for every member of our community. Her training and experience has provided her
the opportunity to see and understand community from multiple perspectives and reinforced her
desire to get more deeply involved in civic life.
Ms. Knowles is committed to doing what she can to ensure that our communities continue to
thrive. If confirmed, she will serve as the S. Kohala Commissioner with a term ending December
31, 2023.
