Aloha Council Chair David and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Michael Dela Cruz to the Leeward Planning Commission.
Mr. Dela Cruz has been a resident of Hawai'i for twenty-eight years. He attended Pahoa
Elementary and High School and graduated from the Hawai'i National Guard Youth Challenge
Academy in 1999. His desire is to serve his community by being more involved and aware of
future development and the impact it may have on families and community.
Mr. Dela Cruz has participated in volunteerism with the Ironman Triathalon, Highway and Park
cleanups and serves as Coach for both soccer and the North Hawai'i Little League Association.
We believe Michael would be a great asset to our Leeward Planning Commission.
If confirmed, he will serve as the At Large-N. Kohala or S. Kohala Commissioner with a term
ending December 31, 2025.
