A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRINGIAPPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ISLAND OF HAWAII YMCA TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE OPERATION OF KALAMAPI`I PLAY SCHOOL WHEREAS, the Island of Hawaii YMCA (YMCA) is a 541(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports local communities through programs and activities focusing on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility; and WHEREAS, Kalamapi`i PLAY School is a preschool for kids with a history of trauma or difficulty in the traditional preschool setting; and WHEREAS,the YMCA is working in partnership with the Kalamapi`i PLAY School to assist with expenses related to the operations of the preschool whose mission is to provide education, life-skills, and support in a healthy and safe environment through collaboration with case workers, resource care families, and parents; and WHEREAS, the YMCA is requesting funds to assist with the purchase of materials and supplies for educational and recreational engagement as well as funds to assist with the payment of one month's rent for the preschool; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports community-based programs that promote education, health, safety, and well-being in drug-free, and alcohol-free venues; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Island of Hawaii YMCA to assist with expenses related to the operations of the Kalamapi`i PLAY School. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
