RESOLUTION NO. 341 22
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOMELESS TASK
FORCE FOR ITS WELLER HOUSE TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROJECT.
WHEREAS, Homeless Task Force is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission
is to provide outreach and engagement services to the homeless community and transitional
housing; and
WHEREAS, Homeless Task Force is establishing the "Weller House Transitional
Housing"project located in Oceanview to provide short-term,transitional housing for
unsheltered males, including military veterans in Hawaii County; and
WHEREAS, Homeless Task Force is collaborating with social service organizations, the
Hawaii Police Department, medical personnel, the Root and Rise Therapeutic Horticulture
Organization, businesses, churches, and other agencies on the Weller House Transitional
Housing project; and
WHEREAS, Homeless Task Force is requesting funds to purchase miscellaneous
materials and supplies for its Weller House Transitional Housing Project; and
WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of Housing and Community Development is
to provide for the development of viable communities in Hawaii County by providing decent
housing, suitable living environments, and expanding economic opportunities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific programs, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Office of Housing
and Community Development to provide a grant to Homeless Task Force for its Weller House
Transitional Housing Project in Oceanview.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Housing Administrator and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
