HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 343 Draft 01 2020-2022 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE OF A DIGITAL MAILING MACHINE FOR THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY CLERK, ELECTIONS DIVISION. WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease, or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year shall be approved by resolution; and WHEREAS, the County of Hawai‘i wishes to enter into a five-year lease agreement for a digital mailing machine for the Office of the County Clerk, Elections Division, to be located at its satellite office at the West Hawai‘i Civic Center; and WHEREAS, the lease for the current digital mailing machine has expired and a replacement is necessary due to the high volume of mail sent out from this office; and WHEREAS, the Office of the County Clerk wishes to enter into a five-year lease agreement for a digital mailing machine for approximately $35.31 per month, which is slightly less than the previous lease; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five-year lease agreement for a digital mailing machine for the Office of the County Clerk, Elections Division. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Mayor Mitchell D. Roth, Director of Finance, and Elections Program Administrator.
