RESOLUTION NO. 351. 22
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
DONATION OF A MINIATURE MEDITERRANEAN DONKEY TO THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION.
WHEREAS, Ms. Sherri Carden is donating a Miniature Mediterranean Donkey to the
County of Hawai`i Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, this Miniature Mediterranean Donkey, named "Mocha Latte", valued at
approximately$2,000, will be a new addition to the Pana`ewa Rainforest Zoo and Garden's
petting zoo; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawai`i County Charter, provides that the
council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this
donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawai`i County Charter, the County of
Hawai`i, accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Ms. Sherri Carden, HC3 Box 4643, Kea'au, HI 96749, acknowledging
this generous donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Department of Finance, and the
Office of the Mayor.
