Re: Amend Resolution 335-22
Please see below proposed amendments to Resolution No. 335-22, correcting the
duration of the multi-year agreement that should have been stated as a three-year lease
with three (3) five (5) year options for additional terms. The proposed amendments are -
shown in Raniseyer format with respect to the contents of Resolution No. 335-22,
material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken through, material to be added is bolded
and underscored.
1. The title is amended to read as follows:
"RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO
NEGOTIATE [AN A THREE (3)YEAR LEASE OF REAL
PROPERTY[,] WITH OPTION TERMS FOR A PORTION OF 34 RAINBOW
DRIVE (OLD HILO HOSPITAL), SITUATED AT PIIHONUA, SOUTH HILO,
COUNTY AND STATE OF HAWAII,AND IDENTIFIED AS A PORTION OF
TAX MAP KEY: (3) 2-3-026:008, TO HOPE SERVICES HAWAI'I,INC."
2. The second WHEREAS clause is amended to read as follows:
"WHEREAS, HOPE Services Hawai`i, Inc., a non-profit organization, desires to
negotiate an [an eighteen (18)] a three (3) year lease of real property for the period
• October 7, 2019 through May 31, 2022, with three (3) five (5) year option terms for •

approximately 11,853 square feet of the premises, to be used as an Assessment Center
and Emergency Shelter for single individuals who are experiencing homelessness, and"
3. The enacting clause is amended to read as follows:
"BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII,
that pursuant to Hawai'i County Code Chapter 2, Article 9, Section 2-120(a)(2), the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to negotiate a [multi year lease (with renewal

for additional terms with HOPE Services Hawaii, Inc., a non-profit organization,
without notice or appraisal, for approximately 11,853 square feet of real property located
at 34 Rainbow Drive, Hilo, County and State of Hawai i, known as the Old Hilo Hospital
Complex, identified as Tax Map_Key (3)2-3-026:008."
