Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 128,reports as follows:
Bill No. 128, transmitted by the Finance Director Deanna S. Sako via Communication No. 647
dated February 17, 2022, amends Ordinance No. 21-38, as amended, the Operating Budget for
the County of Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022.
This bill decreases the County of Hawaii—Tenant Based Rental Assistance Program account
($2,035,200) and the University Heights Home Reconstruction account($289,800); and
appropriates the funds to the Hale Na Koa O Hanakahi Independent Senior Housing account
($2,325,000).
Housing Administrator Susan Kunz provided background on the program.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 128, and
recommends its passage on first reading.
