RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING N APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM ESIGNAT FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING A TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANTT THE DANIEL R.
SAYRE MEMORIAL FOUNDATION TO PURCHASE A WATER FILTRATION
SYSTEM AND ICE MAKER FOR THE HAWAVI FIRE DEPARTMENT'S KAILUA
FIRE STATION IN WEST A AI`L
WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization whose mission is to provide fire, emergency, rescue equipment and supplies, or
funding to purchase fire, emergency, rescue equipment and supplies, to the Hawaii County Fire
Department; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department has identified the need for a water filtration
system and ice maker at its Kailua Fire Station in West Hawaii, which will improve
departmental readiness during emergency and hazard responses; and
WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is requesting funds to purchase a
water filtration system and ice maker for the Hawaii Fire Department's Kailua Fire Station in
West Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department mission is to provide exceptional, all hazards
emergency servies to the residents and visitors of Hawaii Island; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Hawaii Fire
Department to provide a grant to the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation to purchase a water
filtration system and ice maker for the Hawaii Fire Department's Kailua Fire Station in West
Hawaii.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Fire Chief and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
