�NgtlfOf <br /> COUNTY OF <br /> 6 *6. eaSTATE OF 6 <br /> �P6 OF°Npd <br /> RESOLUTION NO. .355 22 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TOT E WEST HAWAFI <br /> VETERANS CEMETERY DEVELOPMENT AND EXPANSION ASSOCIATION, INC., <br /> TO CONSTRUCT A VIETNAM WAR MEMORIAL. <br /> WHEREAS, the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery Development and Expansion <br /> Association, Inc., (WHVCDEA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization consisting of veteran <br /> organizations, individual veterans, and citizens that have organized and facilitated innumerable <br /> projects at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery-Pu`u Ho`omaha O Na Po`e Koa O Hawaii <br /> Komohana(WHVC) in honor of our veterans; and <br /> WHEREAS, WHVC is one of three state-owned veterans' cemeteries in the nation that <br /> has received the honor of a"Shrine Status" designation by the Veterans Administration(VA); and <br /> WHEREAS, WHVCDEA will be constructing a Vietnam War Memorial at WHVC to <br /> pay tribute, with honor and respect, to Vietnam War veterans and their families; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii State Office of Veterans' Services and the Hawaii State <br /> Department of Defense have approved plans for the construction of a Vietnam War Memorial at <br /> WHVC; and <br /> WHEREAS, WHVCDEA has requested funds to assist with costs associated with the <br /> construction of a Vietnam War Memorial at WHVC; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation works in partnership with <br /> WHVCDEA and is supportive of its efforts to maintain and improve WHVC; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to WHVCDEA to construct a Vietnam War Memorial at <br /> WHVC. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
