A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE DANIEL R. SAYRE
MEMORIAL FOUNDATION TO PURCHASE A WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM AND ICE MAKER FOR THE HAWAI‘I FIRE DEPARTMENT’S KAILUA FIRE STATION IN WEST HAWAI‘I.
WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide fire, emergency, rescue equipment and supplies, or funding to purchase
fire, emergency, rescue equipment and supplies, to the Hawai‘i County Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai‘i Fire Department has identified the need for a water filtration system and ice maker at its Kailua Fire Station in West Hawai‘i, which will improve departmental readiness
during emergency and hazard responses; and
WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is requesting funds to purchase a water filtration system and ice maker for the Hawai‘i Fire Department’s Kailua Fire Station in West
Hawai‘i; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai‘i Fire Department mission is to provide execptional, all hazards emergency servies to the residents and visitors of Hawai‘i Island; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Hawai‘i Fire Department to provide a grant to
the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation to purchase a water filtration system and ice maker for the Hawai‘i Fire Department’s Kailua Fire Station in West Hawai‘i.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
