Re: Resolution for multi-year lease
The Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to lease real property identified by Tax
Map Key (TMK) (3) 9-5-014:060 in Ka'u, Hawaii and owned by Hamakua Land and
Cattle, LLC. This location is to be used for access to Whittington Beach Park and for
public park purposes including, but not limited to picnicking,parking, permitted camping
and community events.
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the County to enter into a ten-year, multi-year lease
agreement with First Right to Purchase with Hamakua Land and Cattle, LLC for the
location described above. The anticipated rent shall be $61,948 per year with a
compounding increase of three percent per year, plus tax.

Lease terms will be for 16 years with the County of Hawaii given a first right to renew or purchase at agreed
upon terms.
