Re: Resolution to Negotiate Lease
The County of Hawaii has control and management of real property known as the Old
Waimea Tax Office, identified by tax map key (TMK) (3) 6-7-002:025 situated in
Waimea, Hawaii. The Waimea Preservation Association, a nonprofit organization,
desires to negotiate a multi-year lease of this property for use as a historical resource
center.
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Director of Finance to negotiate the lease (with
renewal options for additional terms) of this real property with the Waimea Preservation
Association. This resolution also authorizes the Mayor of the County of Hawaii to
execute said lease agreement on behalf of the County of Hawaii, following approval by
the Council.

Approval to negotiate a multi-year lease of real property identified as Tax Map Key: (8) 6-7-02:25, Old
Waimea Tax Office, to Waimea Preservation Association.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Waimea Preservation Association, a not-far-profit organization, desires to lease the Parcel from the County.
a The facility will be used as a historical resource center, initiating, sponsoring and collaborating with other
community organizations, groups and committees, encouraging community awareness in Waimea`s rich
cultural heritage.
