A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF THE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF “PHASE 1” OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I MOBILE APPLICATION, KĀHEA TO THE DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
WHEREAS, the Duane Kurisu and the AIO Family of Companies is donating the design and development of “Phase 1” of the County of Hawai‘i mobile application, Kāhea to the County of Hawai‘i;
and
WHEREAS, this mobile application, with an estimated value of $45,000, will allow the County of Hawai‘i to provide quicker and more effective messaging, ultimately promoting greater transparency;
and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai‘i County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal
property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawai‘i County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities,
or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Information Technology recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai‘i County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a)
of the Hawai‘i County Code, the Council of the County of Hawai‘i accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Department of Information Technology, the Department of Finance, and the Office of the Mayor.
