Sako via Communication No. 679 dated <br /> March 4, 2022, adopts a pay plan for persons employed by the County other than those whose pay is <br /> otherwise provided for, designates payroll periods,pay days, prescribes requirements with respect to <br /> official fidelity bonds, and repeals Ordinance No. 21-35 and all amendments thereto, said ordinance <br /> to be known as the Salary Ordinance of 2022. <br /> This bill establishes rates of compensation for appointed employees in the Legislative Branch and the <br /> Office of Housing and Community Development,the County Physician, Student Helpers, and Senior <br /> Community Services Aids for various County agencies. <br /> Per Committee Member H61eka Goro Inaba's request, Human Resources Director <br /> Waylen Leopoldino provided background on the measure. Mr. Inaba then asked Mr. Leopoldino <br /> whether the measure had been recommended or reviewed by the Salary and Cost of Government <br /> Commissions. Mr. Leopoldino stated that the two commissions had not,but those agencies with the <br /> authority had reviewed the measure. <br /> Committee Chair Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder asked Mr. Leopoldino to describe his feelings on the <br /> pay plan. Mr. Leopoldino stated that he had reviewed the measure and that it made sense given that <br /> the plan had not been updated in a while. <br /> Committee Member Herbert M. "Tim"Richards III asked Mr. Leopoldino to elaborate on the process <br /> should an increased minimum wage be passed.
